Consigning with Great Estate

If you have fine furnishings or decorative accessories that you wish to consign with Great Estate, we would love to talk to you about consignment opportunities! Here’s how it works:

Photographs: Before we can discuss your items we need to see a photograph of each item. Our preference is digital pictures, but you are also welcome to bring your photographs to the shop, or send them in the mail.

We are also available by appointment to look at items in person.

Consigner Agreement: Under our agreement, Great Estate retains 50% of the sales price received, and the remaining 50% will be mailed to the consigner. Checks are mailed by the 15th of the following month in which the item has sold. The consignment period is 90 days. If the item has not sold in the 3 month consignment period the consigner is responsible for picking up their item within 10 days of the last day of the consignment period. After the 10 day period of time, the item becomes the property of the shop, unless previous arrangements have been made.

Price Reduction: The price of each item is marked down 10% every 30 days.

Types of Items for Consignment: Including, but not limited to: Upholstered Furniture (Loveseats, Chairs, Ottomans), Case Goods (Tables, Desks, Bookcases, Dining Room Furniture, Chest of Drawers, Occasional Tables), Lamps, Mirrors, Art Work, Decorative Accessories. All items must be clean and ready to sell before being delivered to the shop. Upholstered items should have no rips, tears or stains. Wood products can be enhanced with “Old English” or a similar type product to fill in scratches. All screws should be tightened and joints secure. All hardware should be in place. All items should be clean inside, outside, underneath, around the back and on rims and edges.

Pick-up / Delivery: It is the responsibility of the consigner to make arrangements to have the consignment items delivered to the shop. Other arrangements can be discussed.

All sales are final: Due to the nature of our business, we do not offer refunds, exchanges or store credits.
